Did you actually read the thing I linked to in that disclaimer? I thought I’d made it pretty clear that the selection of photos that end up on this blog is a practical matter. I’m not filtering out the [insert your favorite oppressed group here] photos. I basically post any picture I come across that depicts a smiling person in some stage of undress as long as it’s reasonably well photographed, in focus, of high enough resolution, (usually) not too sexually explicit, and not too similar to another photo I posted recently. I still can’t magically produce these photos. If I could, believe me, this blog would be a free-for-all of queer, racially diverse, disabled, full-figured, elderly people (and I apologize in advance to any offended groups I inadvertently left out of that list). But I can’t, so my options are either to quit my job and spend all my time scouring web sites that fetishize all of those attributes (which is even more problematic), hoping that by chance I might come across a photo in which someone is smiling so I can steal it and post it here, or to just stop doing this blog altogether, which is looking more and more appealing.

How much guiltier do you want me to feel? I put that disclaimer up because this blog is not and has never been a political statement, and I’m tired of it being treated as such just because I dared to use the word “people” in the title instead of “skinny white women” or something. There are plenty of people who want to write in and spout their mouths about how evil I am for not including such-and-such, but when invited to submit photos of such-and-such so I can post them here, those people mysteriously clam up, maybe because they’ve realized that they can’t produce them either.

But you’re right; clearly the disclaimer isn’t helping. I put it there because people kept writing in with essentially the same question/accusation, and I figured people were here for the photos and not to read me repeatedly defending myself, yet I thought those criticisms were important (if perhaps misguided) and deserved to be addressed. At this point, though, I give up; from now on I’ll simply ignore those messages and carry on updating this clearly hateful, bigoted blog.
